Podiatry Explained

Podiatry is the professional medical care and treatment of the feet and lower legs. A Podiatrist is a medical practitioner who treats injuries, various conditions of the feet as well as complications from ongoing health issues such as diabetes.

Dr. Simon Becker, DPM is the Podiatrist at the Center for Integrative and Traditional Medicine who provides foot and lower leg care for our patients. He treats our patients who are suffering from various foot conditions ranging from bunions, hammertoes, runner’s foot pain, diabetic wound care, nail issues, arthritis and Morton’s neuroma. Podiatric care also addresses how you walk, how you stand, checks the range of motion in your joints and sees how your shoes fit to determine the need for orthotics if necessary.

HOW WE CAN HELP

The Process

The Podiatrist will offer the latest and most effective technologies and procedures available. Patients are educated about proper care of their feet, which may prevent future foot ailments from occurring. Dr. Becker is dedicated to providing patients with personalized service to ensure that their current foot problems are cared for and also addresses prevention care. The goal is to develop productive recovery plans for patients to get them healthy and comfortably back on their feet as soon as possible.

Your feet do a lot of work. By the time you are 50, you will have walked approximately 75,000 miles on them. Feet are complex structures with many bones, tendons, and ligaments that have to work together perfectly to keep you moving. Care of your feet is essential to your health and well-being.
