Physical Therapy Explained

Physical Therapy is a healthcare modality that is provided to patients by a Physical Therapist who promotes, maintains, or restores health through physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, patient education, physical intervention, rehabilitation, and health promotion.
The Physical Therapist at the Center For Integrative & Traditional Medicine helps to take care of patients in all phases of healing, from the initial encounter through the restorative and preventative stages of recovery.
HOW WE CAN HELP

The Benefits

When a patient comes to a Physical Therapist, they will undergo a physical exam and evaluation, including evaluation of posture, movement and flexibility and of muscle and joint motion and performance.

Patients will receive treatment with the use of electrical stimulation, ultra sound, hands-on tissue manipulation, joint manipulation, hot or cold packs and often exercise directed at the need of the presenting condition. To support our patients further, they are also given an exercise program to follow at home.

Commonly treated conditions are musculosketeal dysfunction such as neck pain, backpain, rotator cuff tears, spinal stenosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports-related injuries, injuries from motor vehicle accidents, tennis elbow, and various neurological conditions.

The goal of our Physical Therapist, Dr. Hrishi Patak, is for his patients to restore strength, mobility, flexibility, balance, ease any discomfort or pain, and to restore their musculoskeletal health, thereby, improving their quality of life. His gentle, experienced, knowledgeable care is most valued by his patients.
