Katherine Ann Gearity, D.C. attended the New York Chiropractic College in New York and received her Doctor of Chiropractic in 1987. In 1994, she received a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Bridgeport University, Bridgeport, CT. She has, also, been a long-standing member of the American Chiropractic Association.
Dr. Gearity believes that the body works from the inside out. After treating her patients at the Center For Integrative & Traditional Medicine, they leave with the knowledge of why they have the pain or discomfort they have been living with for years. She finds great value in teaching patients about their health and supports them in understanding their body, health issues specific to their concerns and what chiropractic care can do for them.
In her practice, she utilizes many techniques which are both traditional and non-traditional. Dr. Gearity’s post graduate work included Kinesiology, which is the study of muscular integrity in relation to all components affecting the muscular system. Stress has the potential to alter the tension of a muscle affecting its blood flow, nerve supply and function. Other reasons a muscle can show signs of dysfunction would be chemical stress, accidents, and injuries or perhaps signals from some internal source being referred out to the muscular system thereby affecting the spine. Integrating Chiropractic Care with Kinesiology provides a more comprehensive way to treat her patients. Dr. Gearity is devoted to giving the highest standard of patient care accomplishing this with warmth, compassion, knowledge and experience.
