Holistic Primary Care Bergen County – One Doctor, Every Reason You Walk In

Bergen County has no shortage of places offering the word holistic – wellness centers, naturopathic practices, larger health companies with several locations. Finding a single board-certified internist who is your actual primary care physician of record, who also integrates therapies rather than referring you elsewhere, is tougher to come by. The model is that at CITM.

Holistic Primary Care Bergen North Jersey

Holistic Primary Care Bergen County: Who's Actually Involved in Your Care

  • Dr. Roman Finn, a board-certified internist, will be your primary care doctor of record, assigned to you on each and every visit rather than on a schedule

  • Dr. Scott David Lippe, gastroenterologist, will be available in-house for patients who require a closer look when digestive symptoms occur

  • Lev Vyshedsky, L.Ac, licensed acupuncturist, is added to your plan when it genuinely fits your case

  • Nutrition, stress management, and lab reviews are performed in the same practice by the same health team, who already know all about you

You are not being referred out to assemble comprehensive care. It has been designed for your convenience in one office.

What Bergen County Patients Come to CITM For

Preventive care that goes beyond a checklist. A yearly physical at CITM includes a full history, current labs, medications, and lifestyle factors reviewed together, not a fifteen-minute box-checking exercise before you’re sent home until next year.

A new diagnosis that needs a real plan, not just a prescription. If a person has high blood pressure, their high cholesterol or early thyroid or blood sugar problems are treated with medication and a nutrition and lifestyle plan is also implemented – not in place of the medicine.

An existing chronic condition that needs ongoing attention. Labs and symptoms are monitored between visits for diabetes, thyroid disease, autoimmune diagnosis and other diagnoses, as they change rather than repeated at the next visit.

Symptoms that persist even though your labs look normal. Common conditions that patients in Bergen County visit us with – often after multiple tests elsewhere that did not yield results – include fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, and sleeping issues.

Whole-Person Primary Care for Ongoing Health

Whole-Person Primary Care for Ongoing Health Conditions

Whole-person primary care is not just the rehashing of a health issue such as a diabetes or hypertension diagnosis at your next routine checkup. Labs and symptoms are monitored between appointments, and medication, nutrition, or lifestyle changes are made as soon as they change, not months later. Ongoing management remains grounded in what the results tell you; even if complementary therapies are included in that management plan, they should only be included if there is real value to be obtained from doing so – not just a general wellness programme for all.

Holistic Health

A Personalized Primary Care Plan That Follows You Year to Year

Putting together a customized primary care plan does not mean it will be handed to you and expected to be followed for the rest of your life. Dr. Finn continually updates your plan as your circumstances change, your labs change, or your medications change, so the advice you get is always current and will always match where you are, not where you were at your first visit. This is what happens when heeding these things instead of having a single good appointment –the plan progresses with you rather than remaining static.

I have been going to Dr. Finn's office for over 15 years and I am very happy with the services and treatment I receive. Dr. Finn always listens to his patients and tries to get to the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. I like that he always recommends using natural and alternative methods first instead of prescribing medications right away. I also go for a physical therapy at his office for my back problems. His physical therapist is very knowledgeable and massage therapists, Galina and Shirley, are the best! They always welcome me with the smile and are very attentive. I would not think of going anywhere else. Keep up a great job Dr. Finn and The Staff!!

Frequently Asked Questions: Holistic Primary Care in Bergen County

What does it mean to have an integrative primary care physician instead of a regular one?

Your primary care physician provides all your normal medical services (physicals, lab tests, prescriptions, etc.) and also addresses nutrition, lifestyle, and complementary therapies as part of your overall health program, not in isolation from your medical program.

Yes. A specialist will usually work on a particular system or issue. The whole-person approach to primary care requires a single doctor to consider the interaction between your conditions, your labs, and your activities in the context of your overall health.

Your plan is not changed just once a year, when you go for your physical; instead, it is updated as your labs change, your symptoms change, or your circumstances change. Specific conditions are monitored in between visits.

Yes. Patients often start with an initial assessment to detect patterns early on when it’s just at a stage you haven’t officially diagnosed it.

Yes. These conditions are managed on an ongoing basis, with medication, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments made as your lab work and symptoms change over time.

This is a frequent complaint that patients have. Sometimes a primary care physician who sees everything in one sitting discovers a relationship by combining a history and the lab results–one that a succession of individuals isolated in their specialty would not have.

You can make your first appointment without a referral.

Patients frequently travel from Paramus, Hackensack, Ridgewood, Fair Lawn, Teaneck, and other Bergen County municipalities for treatment on a regular basis.
