Holistic Health Solutions: Your Functional Medicine Doctor for Passaic County, NJ Residents

If you've been bouncing from one specialist to another without finding any solutions that make sense, a functional medicine doctor might be able to help you. At the Center for Integrative & Traditional Medicine (CITM) in Paramus, we help patients across Passaic County discover the underlying cause of chronic symptoms, not simply control them. We don't treat the diagnosis as an entity in its own right, but consider the complex interaction between digestion, hormones, immunity and lifestyle, and construct a treatment plan around the whole person.

I have been going to Dr. Finn's office for over 15 years and I am very happy with the services and treatment I receive. Dr. Finn always listens to his patients and tries to get to the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. I like that he always recommends using natural and alternative methods first instead of prescribing medications right away. I also go for a physical therapy at his office for my back problems. His physical therapist is very knowledgeable and massage therapists, Galina and Shirley, are the best! They always welcome me with the smile and are very attentive. I would not think of going anywhere else. Keep up a great job Dr. Finn and The Staff!!

Frequently Asked Questions: Functional Medicine Doctor Passaic County

How do I know if I need a functional medicine doctor instead of my regular physician?

A functional medicine evaluation can take a more holistic approach to your condition than your primary care provider may have explored if you’ve been diagnosed with a chronic condition that you still did not feel well about, or you had symptoms in multiple systems (gut, energy, mood, skin) that were unrelated to each other.

Take any recent laboratory work, any current medications/supplements and a general history of when symptoms began. It will allow our team to make your intake evaluation faster.

Not always. A few patients do have pertinent labs from a different provider. If further tests are required, we use panels that provide useful information about the particular symptoms, instead of ordering unnecessary tests.

Yes. Functional medicine is intended to supplement, not supplant, treatment by your current providers. Our team plans around your existing treatment, not requiring you to discontinue it.

Patients come to us for chronic or unresolved conditions, but functional medicine is used proactively – for energy, metabolic health and preventive care – by patients who feel “fine” but want deeper baseline knowledge of their health.

Availability is subject to changing depending on the type of visit. To determine if your particular consultation may be conducted by telehealth, please call our Paramus office at (201) 291-0401.

Treatment in the realm of functional medicine is not a one size fits all approach. Your plan can change because of follow-up lab results and the response to early changes at predetermined follow-up appointments.

Our functional medicine services are mainly geared towards adult patients. Check if a particular case is within our scope of care by calling our office.
