Chronic Fatigue Doctor Hudson North Jersey – Energy That Doesn't Come Back on Its Own

Many patients pinpoint a lack of energy to a poor flu season that never went away. Others were unable to identify a single beginning time because there was never a time when fatigue ceased, sleep was restored, or stress was eliminated; it just gradually accumulated over the course of months with long hours, poor sleep, and continued stress. There is a doctor in Hudson County, North Jersey, who specializes in chronic fatigue for both scenarios. Dr. Roman Finn at CITM will examine the underlying cause of exhaustion through more extensive testing and a thorough review of your history, rather than the notion that it will heal itself with additional rest. When patients arrive at this stage, they are already familiar with the common remedies with little satisfaction.

Meet the Physicians Behind Your Fatigue Evaluation

  • Dr. Roman Finn – board-certified internist specializing in root cause, integrative health care for unexplained fatigue

  • Scott David Lippe, MD – gastroenterology support for digestive dysfunction, contributing to low energy

  • Lev Vyshedsky, L.Ac – acupuncture selectively applied in a planned recovery program

  • One doctor to follow your case from the initial appointment to all subsequent appointments, which means no new providers at each appointment

That continuity is crucial in cases of fatigue because the true cause may only become apparent after multiple visits, when symptoms and test results are cross-referenced – something that’s hard to get from a rotating provider.

Recognizing the Difference Between Tired and Chronically Fatigued

Even the best sleep or a quiet weekend can help alleviate daily fatigue. Chronic fatigue isn’t like that – it persists for months and doesn’t improve with sleep, and is frequently accompanied by brain fog, unrefreshed sleep, and painful joints or muscles. Patients have already received their lab results, and they say that they are fine, but feel anything but fine. After that, a chronic fatigue doctor keeps on digging. What is desired is the difference between normal and persistent symptoms, and this is where the useful information is often found.

What Your Evaluation and Testing Actually Involve

Your first appointment begins with a thorough history of onset, daily patterns, previous testing, and what has already been excluded, and then moves on to the lab testing that goes beyond the standard physical. What routine testing often fails to detect is caught by functional and nutrient-based testing due to the fact that this difficult-to-solve fatigue usually doesn’t point to one obvious cause. Results are used as a guide to your daily habits and history, not a single number in isolation, and all information collected is used to create a plan that is unique to each patient instead of being applied in a standard protocol to all. History and initial findings will dictate subsequent testing, and the two people with almost the same symptoms can find themselves on very different paths.

Holistic Health

Turning Findings Into a Working Recovery Plan

Treatment will integrate multiple strategies to address underlying factors instead of just using one – if needed, targeted supplementation for deficiencies, dietary changes if gut issues are present, structured sleep and stress support, and medication management if it is truly needed. Acupuncture and IV nutritional therapy are provided when it is beneficial to that plan. Progress toward recovery is monitored on an ongoing basis, and the protocol adjusts to the labs and symptoms, as recovery can not always be measured in a linear fashion over time. Energy is a component that can get better before sleep quality does, and vice versa – it’s the process that’s monitored, not just the end result.

I have been going to Dr. Finn's office for over 15 years and I am very happy with the services and treatment I receive. Dr. Finn always listens to his patients and tries to get to the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. I like that he always recommends using natural and alternative methods first instead of prescribing medications right away. I also go for a physical therapy at his office for my back problems. His physical therapist is very knowledgeable and massage therapists, Galina and Shirley, are the best! They always welcome me with the smile and are very attentive. I would not think of going anywhere else. Keep up a great job Dr. Finn and The Staff!!

Frequently Asked Questions: Chronic Fatigue Doctor in Hudson County

How does a chronic fatigue doctor differ from a regular primary care visit?

A chronic fatigue doctor takes the investigation beyond a typical physical, asking more questions and pairing them with a more detailed history to determine what is really causing chronic fatigue rather than a stress or aging assumption.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is marked by extreme, continuing fatigue for at least six months that cannot be helped by rest and that interferes with normal functioning. Diagnosis is made by excluding other conditions and by patterns of symptoms, as there is no specific test that confirms diagnosis alone – hence the importance of the pattern of symptoms and the thorough history and broad testing for diagnosis here.

Standard panels are built to catch disease, not the subtler imbalances – mild thyroid dysfunction, nutrient depletion, gut inflammation – that can drive real fatigue without ever triggering a flagged result on a routine test. Expanded testing exists specifically to fill in that gap.

Yes. Viral infections are known to have a huge impact on chronic fatigue and it is this underlying effect that is specifically sought for in a comprehensive evaluation and not ignored because the infection seemingly resolved after the fact. Fatigue that lasts for several months and may be caused by post-viral syndrome can follow a different treatment trajectory than virtually all other types of fatigue, and may involve stress and/or hormonal imbalances.

Coverage is dependent upon the services requested and the type of plan you have. Just give us a call at (201) 291-0401, and we will confirm what applies prior to your visit.

Most patients will see changes within the first several months, depending on the underlying cause, as confirmed deficiencies are addressed and the plan is adjusted if results change as you go. Multiple simultaneous causes usually mean that cases will take more time to be resolved completely than cases where there is one distinct cause.

A referral is not necessary. Directly schedule with CITM’s chronic fatigue care team.
